Sorry, I am No Longer Building Guitars for Others
I regret that I am no longer able to build guitars for others. My other products are consuming all my extra time and I just don't have the time needed for building right now. Thank you for dropping by and for the numerous e-mails I get about my products and this site. I never dreamed the website would become what it has and it's all because of my wonderful and faithful clients. Thank You for helping make my dreams come true!

T-Von “Tone Maids”

Below is a guitar I built for Sam Bishop. Here’s what Sam had to say about his “Tone Maid”:

I was looking for something that would give me a more full, rounder tone than the Telecaster I had while still having the edge that you'd expect from a Tele. I discussed what I wanted from the guitar & my style of playing with Monte, and his experience helped me decide on the type of wood for the body & neck. I think, however, that the Koa I choose surprised both of us with its range.  In true Tele style, this guitar can growl & bite but she also has manners.  The way she can turn a smooth phrase is so amazing.

Using most of the old hardware I had on my other guitar, it is a night & day difference between what I had & this guitar. Great feel, great balance, great tone.  The neck work is wonderful. It feels silky smooth under my fingers, the frets are barely noticed. It is as comfortable on the upper neck as at the nut. I would *love* to send the rest of my guitars to Monte for the same treatment.  What I liked about working with Monte was that if I was looking for advice, he wasn't namby-pamby with it. He said "I think this because...".
However, the final decision was always mine and he made it plain that what I wanted I would get. I had confidence that he knew what he was talking about and it appears that I was right.  He was also excellent about letting me know the progress of the guitar. I knew what was being done & how long each stage should take.  This guitar has exceeded my hopes for it by 10 times. I would have him build me another tomorrow, if I could.

T-Von “Tone Maids”
Below is a guitar I built for myself. Sorry, this one’s not for sale. I decided to take my favorite Tele components and make my dream guitar.  What I ended up with far exceeded my expectations.  I chose a 4 lb. Swamp Ash 2-piece (although it looks like a 1-piece) body, a Fender Licensed 9 1/4” radius Maple Neck with Rosewood Fretboard and a Fat ‘C’ shaped style neck.  For the pickups I chose a set of Joe Barden pups.  In case you’ve never heard of these pups they are some of the best Tele pickups made.  Very articulate and bright without the ice pick tone you’ll find with a lot of the Tele pups available.  Here’s a few Tele Porn Pics for you.
